Austin Lin received his Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering and Physics from Northeastern University. He is currently pursuing his Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Michigan under Professors Johanna Mathieu and Al-Thaddeus Avestruz. At Northeastern, he was able to experience two 6 month internships, at Jacobs Engineering and Lutron Electronics, where he gained industry experience designing lighting devices and electrical systems for buildings. This piqued his interest in both power systems and power electronics. His research interests include the interaction between power electronics and the power grid, specifically in regards to the integration of renewable energy resources. He also enjoys competitive running, and is a member of the Michigan Track and Field team.
